# Quickstart Guide

Start the development API server alongside Inngest and create the initial administrator account.

Start the development API server alongside Inngest and create your first administrator account.

## Running the Dev Server

Run the development server using `tsx watch`:

```bash
tsx watch src/server.ts
```

The server initializes Express and listens for requests on `PORT`.

## Running Inngest Dev Server

Voiceflow serves background jobs and Inngest functions through Express at `/api/inngest`.

## Creating the First Admin

Run the admin script to provision or elevate the first administrator account:

```bash
tsx scripts/make-admin.ts
```

## Verifying the Setup

Verify that the server is operational by executing the test suite:

```bash
vitest run
```

You can also run type checking across the codebase to ensure your environment compiles cleanly:

```bash
tsc --noEmit
```
